Whilst we have a particular focus to the EU our objective is the worldwide legalisation of Swedish Snus and other lower risk smokeless tobacco products, based on a regulatory framework. Our objective is also to secure the permission-to-sell for our members' smokeless tobacco products in Europe and in other parts of the world.
Our strategy is to communicate the potential public health benefits of those products complying with a proposed ESTOC regulatory framework and to educate and inform relevant stakeholders about all issues related to smokeless tobacco in the EU and elsewhere.
We welcome a constructive dialogue with the EU, governments, public health bodies and other interest groups in seeking to present the scientific evidence for, and potential health benefits of replacing the EU ban on oral smokeless tobacco products such as Swedish snus by a science based product regulatory framework.
