ESTOC, European Smokeless Tobacco Council, was established in 1989 and represents the interests of smokeless tobacco manufacturers and distributors as well as tobacco trade associations. We monitor all smokeless tobacco related issues, including the latest scientific developments at a European and worldwide level.
ESTOC’s objective is to secure the permission-to-sell smokeless tobacco products that comply with our regulatory framework in Europe and in other parts of the world.
Our strategy is to communicate the benefits of those products complying with a proposed ESTOC regulatory framework and to educate and inform relevant stakeholders about all issues related to smokeless tobacco in the EU and elsewhere.
We welcome a constructive dialogue with the EU, governments, public health bodies and other interest groups in seeking to present the scientific evidence for, and potential health benefits of replacing the EU prohibition on oral smokeless tobacco products such as Swedish snus based on a science based product regulatory framework.
